Harrah’s out of group building Vegas arena, sources say

"The joint venture AEG formed with Harrah’s in 2007 to build and operate a new major league arena in Las Vegas no longer includes the casino operator, two sources with inside knowledge of the deal said.
Instead, a consortium whose goal is to bring an NHL expansion team to the proposed 20,000-seat facility in 2010 has stepped into the role as a primary investor, the two sources said. The new arena would effectively replace 25-year-old Thomas and Mack Center.
That group, which other sources said is composed of Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, MGM Studios CEO Harry Sloan and Wall Street financier David Bonderman, has joined AEG in assuming the risk to build a $500 million arena." ...
