Singapore's tourism industry expected to see turnaround in 2 years

"The number of travellers into Singapore went into negative territory from the middle of this year, after months of growth.
Lim Neo Chian, deputy chairman and chief executive, Singapore Tourism Board, said: "In the Singapore context, we saw some softening of inbound travel into Singapore from June onwards. (During the) first six months, we had more than 4 per cent growth and last year, we had 6 per cent growth. So for (the) first six months it is still pretty okay. " ...
"But Singapore government officials remain optimistic about a medium-term recovery by 2010. That is because projects like the integrated resorts, Gardens by the Bay and Youth Olympic Games will take off then." ...
