11/3/2006

By Tuesday we should have in house the National Association of Realtors' 2005 and 2006 Survey of 2nd Home Buyers as well as their 2006 analysis of Baby Boom Housing demographics.
Tradshow Week's Databook (the giant thing) is in.
Selected news from this week's magazines:Funworld (Nov) is looking at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC; the coming boom in the amuseument industry in SE Asia; and those odd, little roadside attractions someone always asks me about even though no one ever pays them any mind.
Shopping Centers Today (Nov) declares Vietnam to be the next boom for retail development.
Indian Country Today (10/4) devoted a lot of time and space to a review of different aspects of the impact and recovery from Katrina for the area's Tribes.
New Orleans City Business has put out its book of lists.
Business Week (11/13) has a feature on Tony Hawk as an extreme sports franchise brand, and a special section on great places to retire for golfers (which includes a very nice and fairly well-detailed table of the top 18 emerging golf retirement regions). {For those of you who worship the links -- they also do a piece on collectiing the memorabilia of the game.}
Shopping Center Business's (Oct) "Center Review" is on the redevelopment of Pointe*Orlando. The issue also includes an analysis of mixed-use retail developments and one on the growth of lifestyle centers in TX.
