The ULI Debacle: No, ULI has not yet gotten the Dollars and Cents of Shopping Centers back from the printers. They have ceased to be apologetic and have moved on to blaming ICSC. They now say that they "expect it in the warehouse" in "late November." Let's start an count-up, shall we? Originally we were promised delivery "by September." So, we'll start with 9/2 as the start of the count. ULI IS LATE WITH DOLLARS AND CENTS OF SHOPPING CENTERS by 77 days! Should we start an office pool on whether Santa will deliver it?
On other fronts:
San Deigo Business Journal (11/6) has an article on development plans at Borrego Valley Golf Links in the heart of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. (10/30) Looks into the current condohotel frenzy and says that the London Group and Donald Trump are moving into development along the Baja peninsula.
California Real Estate Journal (11/13) explores: how developers are making green development profitable in today's office market; the Sycuan Tribe's investment in the U.S. Grant Hotel in San Diego; and how high-rise condos are butting heads (safety and economic-wise) with urban airports.
World Waterpark (Oct-Nov) features Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom and an overview of Aussie developmets.
Hotels (Nov) has a piece based on the Hotel Valuation Index showing what a great time it is for hotel investment and a news feature on the booming market in Cancun.CP&DR (Nov) wants to know "Who's Right on Redevelopment Reform" and looks at the continuing battle over Ahmanson Ranch.
Retail Traffic (Nov) is looking at Boomer consumption trends.
National Real Estate Investment (Nov) has pieces on: Biloxi mixed-use development; retail development on Wall St.; arena-area urban renewal; TOD; and a city review of D.C.

For the record: I hope all the IAAPA folks are having fun. It sure is quiet without you!
