SOM's Arts Venue Takes Shape in Dallas

"The lone Chicago-designed building in the Dallas Arts District promises to be a modest but dignified venue for the Texas city's small to midsize arts groups -- and could rectify some of the urban design faults of its flashier neighbors.
Now under construction and known as the City Performance Hall, the publicly funded, block-filling building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Its first phase, which will contain a 750-seat, two-level theater, is due to open in September 2012 and is expected to provide a home base in the prestigious arts district for a multiethnic variety of music, theater and dance troupes." ...
